Meet Payton Your Spanish Fork Relationship Therapist

I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist and the owner and director of The Relationship Institute, a private practice based in Spanish Fork.
My work focuses on helping couples and individuals untangle patterns of codependency, roommate syndrome, and the often-polarized worlds of high conflict and total conflict avoidance. I believe every relationship has the potential to grow when partners learn to communicate with curiosity, compassion, and courage.
My approach combines evidence-based strategies with a down-to-earth style that helps clients feel understood and supported while challenging them to create meaningful change. Whether I’m helping a couple rebuild connection or guiding someone toward a healthier sense of self, my goal is to foster relationships that feel both secure and alive.
Outside the therapy room, you’ll probably find me on the football field or basketball court, fishing somewhere quiet, or indulging in a bucket of movie theatre popcorn. I’m also lucky enough to share life with my beautiful wife and our three amazing kids, who continually remind me that love—and laughter—are the real work of any good relationship.
I run quarterly community workshops (sometimes free!) for couples wanting to address Roommate Syndrome or seeking to improve their communication. I also facilitate a women’s therapy group aimed at healing from codependency.
