Our
Offerings

We believe healing comes in many different ways, not just traditional talk therapy. That is why we run therapy groups, couples workshops and short seminars for couples alongside our regular counseling sessions.

A therapy group is a great way to connect with others who are going through something similar and to learn from each other’s journeys. A workshop works differently: it is a focused session where you pick up practical tools in a couple of hours instead of a couple of months. Either one is a low-pressure way to see what therapy can actually help you with.

Everything below happens in person at our Spanish Fork office. If you have been searching for a couple workshop near me anywhere in Utah County, we are about 20 minutes from Provo and an easy drive from Springville, Payson, Salem and Mapleton.

Our Current Groups and Workshops

Here is what is on the calendar right now. Spots are limited in every group and workshop, so registering early matters.

Couples Seminars Near You in Utah County

Some people call them workshops and some call them a couple seminar. Here they are the same thing: a short, skills-based session led by a licensed therapist, small enough that you and your partner get real attention instead of sitting at the back of a lecture hall.

Our couples seminars run one to two hours, cover one specific problem rather than everything at once, and send you home with something you can try that same week. Nobody is asked to share private details in front of the group.

Because every session is held in person at 765 N Main St in Spanish Fork, this is a real option if you have been looking for a couples workshop near me in Utah County. A seminar for couples is also the easiest first step when neither of you has done therapy before: no intake paperwork, no long-term commitment. You come once, you learn something, and you decide from there.

A lot of couples start out searching for a couples retreat workshop: a weekend away, a hotel, a full reset in 48 hours. That format works for some people, and it is not what we offer.

What we see is that most couples do not need one intense weekend. They need a few hours of the right teaching and then a chance to come back and build on it. So instead of retreats, we run our couples workshops quarterly, at a fraction of the cost, with no travel, no hotel and no need to find a sitter for two days.

If you are comparing couples retreat workshops in Utah and still want to do one, come to a workshop first. You will walk into that weekend with the basics already covered and get far more out of it.

Thinking About a Couples Retreat Workshop?

How Our Marriage Counseling Workshops Work

Marriage counseling workshops sit between reading a relationship book and starting weekly therapy. You get a licensed therapist teaching the same tools we use in session, in a group setting, at a lower cost per couple, with a clear end point.

Every workshop is led by Payton, focuses on one issue at a time (communication, disconnection, the roommate pattern) and is built around skills you practice rather than theory you listen to. You will not be put on the spot or asked to open up in front of strangers.

Some couples use a workshop as a first step and then decide whether ongoing couples counseling makes sense. Others come back every quarter as a tune-up. Both work.

Questions Couples Ask Before Signing Up

Is there a difference between a couples workshop and a couples seminar?

Not here. Seminars for couples, couples workshops and couples classes all describe the same thing: a short group session teaching relationship skills. We say "workshop" because ours are hands-on instead of lecture-style, but if you searched for seminars for couples in Utah, you are in the right place.

Where exactly are your workshops held?

At our office, 765 N Main St, Spanish Fork, UT 84660. Everything is in person, which is why couples looking for a couple workshop near me in Utah County end up here instead of on a video call.

How much does a couples workshop cost?

Between $100 and $200 per couple depending on length. The Couple’s Roommate Syndrome Workshop is free for a limited time. Dessert is included either way.

Do we have to already be in therapy to attend?

No. Most couples who come to a workshop have never been to counseling together.

Are marriage counseling workshops the same as couples therapy?

No. A workshop teaches skills to a group; couples therapy works on your specific relationship, one couple at a time. Many people do a workshop first and decide from there.

When is the next one?

Both couples workshops run on a quarterly basis. Call 801-528-4550 or email payton@relationshipinstituteutah.com for the next date.
